The Center for International Student Access is looking for one full-time or two part-time teaching assistant(s) for assisting with lecture and teaching recitation sections of the course PROV 106 – Introduction to Research Methods for International Students. This course is designed for international and immigrant students in the ACCESS program.
Each section will have approximately 20 students, all of whom are multilingual speakers of English. The position’s duties include teaching, grading, one-on-one student consultations, and lecturing responsibilities on occasion. Students with 9-12 research methods courses in their graduate courses of study are encouraged to apply. Students majoring in Science and Engineering are not eligible for consideration.
The position officially starts January 10, 2013, lasts for one semester, and pays at the university standard assistantship salary based on educational background, for 20 hours weekly with 6 credit tuition waiver (at the in-state tuition rate) for a full-time position or 10 hours weekly with 3 credit tuition waiver for a part-time position. This position is not eligible for health insurance benefits. Six hours of TA training will be offered in November 2012. Teaching experience strongly preferred. Doctoral students will receive primary consideration.
